I want to put a chocolate filter on some of my pictures. I purchased a tool from EZ Actions. When I use this fuction it applies to my entire picture and I want to only apply it to certian areas. Can anyone tell me how to do it. I have PSE6, can I do this with out the ez actions tool?

You could select the areas you want to be affected by the action then run it. Or just put those areas on their own layer.

I have tried to select areas and then run the action and it still applies it to the entire image. I will try it on another layer. Thanks for all your help!!!!

H Samantha ..

You could try duplicating the layer ... then apply the action to the duplicate layer
Finally erase the areas where you don't want the effect.

You could open a new canvas - put that photo/item on it - apply the filter - rasterize/simplify the photo so the effect is a permanent part of the photo/item - and then move it onto the project.

I will try both suggestions, I will let you know which worked best for what I am wanting to do.

Wendy - Sam's comment about your gallery drew me to take a look. I was very familiar with your work (as you can probably guess LOL) but WOW. Love the photorealism work and your LO "A Grandmother's Love" were well worth taking a second look. Great Gallery - lovely work.

BTW - I finally took your advice and am concentrating all my work in CS3 and you were right (as I suspected you were) it's easier to learn CS when you aren't constantly going back to PSE. ;)

Hi Janice ...

I haven't added anything new into either gallery for a while now as I haven't been creating too much recently ... but I guess its time I started again :o

When you first get Photoshop it really is difficult to set aside Elements and just use photoshop ... but I think its the only way to learn how to fully use it.

I created almost everything in my Galleries including the kits that I used on all the scrapbook pages ...
