Hi.
I am interested in learning the procedure for changing the color of a selection, while maintaining the texture and/or characteristics of the selection (such as folds & creases in clothing, etc.).
I would have tried searching out the information myself, but have to head out, right now. Maybe by the time I get back home, someone might have some input for me.

NL, try the Color Replacement Brush, it's nested in the Brush icons in the tools pallet. It is the icon with a Brush and a tiny orange square.
Select the brush, then set your foreground color swatch to the color you want to "paint". Choose a soft edge brush, and set the opacity of the brush low, like 30%, and then paint the new color onto the area replacing the existing color tone without disrupting the underlying texture. Adjust the size of the brush as needed.
You can make a selection first to help keep your brush within the area to be replaced, but it is not necessary.

Thanks Jeff.
I just got back home, and will give that a shot in just a few minutes.

Hey Jeff.
Man...it only took me a couple of minutes to travel through your suggestion, and it did exactly what I wanted it to do. I had no idea that the process would be this easy.
A very BIG THANKS to you.

You welcome. I u had been using Elements for years before I read about that brush abut a month ago. Simply amazing what is "hidden" inside PSE sometimes, just waiting to be discovered.

Sheesh! I learn something new here every. single. day.
I didn't know about that either and was getting frustrated trying to do the same thing!
Will wonders ever cease? :D
