Hi, I am missing something.
Select background colors?
You just choose them, you don't apply them?
Can you change the color of the glow?
Default settings for the glow?
I applied the colors, when I apply the glow it gets all murky.

Can someone help?
Thanks!!

Color applied to background - no glow.
Thanks Tmmy for the tut. Love the colors you get - don't like to muddy them up.

Hi Marie,

See if this helps:

- I selected both the foreground and background colors.

- When you open the Neon Glow filter, there is a little box with the default glow color (blue) just below the settings. Click on it to pick a different color.

- I didn't change the default settings, but my original image was about 600 x 600px.

Hi Sepiana, thanks for thr instructions.
This filter thing is new to me.
I usually avoid it. It's all my dog's fault.
He laughs when I try something arty. Pathetic critter:rolleyes:
Thanks again.
I will give it another try.

Hi Marie, you're welcome! I had a hard time choosing the right Background/Foreground colors. I had to play around with quite a few combos before I found some I really liked.

I can't believe I'm asking this question I must really be tired!! How did you divide the the canvas into 4 equal sections?

Hi Mary Lou,

I don't know if this is an effective way of doing it or not. But that's what I did:

- Made 4 copies of my original image.

- Applied the effect to each one of them.

- Created a blank file twice the size of the image. Ex.: If the size of the image is 600 x 600, create a blank file that is 1200 x 1200.

- Copied and pasted each image on the blank file.

- Moved the images around to form the 4 sections.

- Applied a stroke all around the whole image.

- Used the pencil tool to create the dividing lines.

Sorry I am getting to this a bit late - this past week has been one heck of a week! Thanks sepiana for jumping in and helping everyone - I appreciate it! Love the variety of all of the funky images!!

TonyW: Very groovy, love the design - too cool!

Sepiana: I think I prefer the find edges over the posterized edges - it brings clarity to the image! Nicely done1

Jo: Dandelions make the perfect image for this technique - love how you tied this image all together1

Swalker: This would make a great background paper or frame for a teen! Very nice!

BillZ: Love how you used a single image divided in different quandrants, great choice of colors too!

Aussie nan: Great zebras, never would have thought of trying this image - but it turned out fabulous and is very unique!

Emkayess65: Looks like you did it perfectly, the grapes and wonderful and love your colors too!

Mary Lou: Super Chickens - the framing really brings out the different tiles!

Too fun Clara, that lock was a great simple image for this technique! Very cool!

Pacfam: What a cute pooch! The motion blur background really helps to bring out the colors!

Val, beautiful! The texture softens this up a bit, I need to try this next time.

Kroberts: How fun is this? Love the simple image combined w/ those vibrant colors! awesome.

BJ: Both of your images are super, but I do have to say I favor the cabins - neat effect for a single image!

Martha: The first image really jumps out at you, the framing really makes the image pop! I really love your 2nd attempt, brushes are really perfect for this effect!

Bobleman Nice choice of colors, love the contrast between the different tiles, very nice!

As always, thanks for particiapating! I have seen a good start on the next fun challenge, looking forward to seeing more!!
