Had to attend a wedding near Sequoia and snuck in a week off up the Western Sierra , my home away from home, I'm extremely lucky to live within a few hours drive.The lower Image is Yosemite Falls in Yosemite National Park

The image with the people at the base of the tree give it a great sense of scale ... those things are HUGE!

Bill,
Yes, its totally amazing to stand next to those big trees. General Sherman is the largest living thing in the world, not the tallest but by volume the biggest. If stood on the freeway it would block/cover 3 lanes wide.Thanks for looking.
