I see amazon.com is currently selling Elements 7 for $51 and change after a $20 qualifying mail-iin rebate for registered owners of previous editions of Elements, or owners of some Corel and MS products, and even for those who have installed the free Picasa photo editor on their systems. Normally I don't buy into rebate promotions having had a few difficulties with those in years past. I know Adobe was having problems with its rebate fullfillment for Elements 7 a while back. Does anyone know if those problems have been resolved and if rebates are now being received in a timely manner?

Hi Simenon ...

There was a thread about it ... but I just can't find it

Hopefully one of the others will have it bookmarked

Hi Wendy - I presume you are referring to the following thread:

http://www.elementsvillage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45448&highlight=rebate

There is still confusion on my part because the information posted there would seem to indicate that rebates should be sent to a San Leandro, CA address, while the printable rebate form at amazon.com indicates an El Paso, TX address.

Think I'll just wait until Elements 7 goes on sale again as it has in the recent past for $50 uncomplicated by any rebate rigmarole.

I believe the confusion lies in the fact that an independent Company located in Phoenix area, that looked after Adobe rebates, went into bankruptcy in Dec 08, which meant Adobe had to look after the rebates themselves, temporarily from their California location, until they could arrange with another independent company now located in Texas, who is doing the rebates. Having independent companies look after rebates, coupons, catalogs etc. is a very common procedure with most large companies.
