I hope everyone is looking forward to our long Memorial Day Weekend with lots of and outdoor time.

We are going to play and have more fun this week!! I have chosen a video tut on Google by Keith Davis. We are going to work with masks and actually hijack a mask. I like this tut a lot. Some of you already know how to do this and some will be learning. It really is fun, not hard and doesn't take a long time.

This tut has 3 different parts to it. For the purpose of this challenge I chose the second part and it starts at 8 minutes and 23 seconds. Feel free to work with one of more of the parts and be sure to tell us which part you used.

The small print for the challenge is ……

Everyone is invited to participate.
Please join in, share your images, ideas, imagination and inspiration. There are no rules - feel free to experiment and, if you can remember tell us what you did so others can benefit from your experiments.

Please post your images (as many as you like) below in this thread.

If you would like to comment or have a question, please post here. (http://www.elementsvillage.com/forums/showthread.php?p=459732#post459732)

I'm looking forward to seeing some very interesting images!!

Here is mine. The pics I used were a barn and a cornfield scene.

Mary Lou, thanks for the tutorial link. The video was easy to understand.
The moose calf & it's mom were blended into the grounds of the Mesa Verde Post Office. Masks are wonderful!

of flowers...

I moved this long-distance snap of a Texas Javalina into this field of wildflowers in late spring in Roosevelt NP in North Dakota (who knew that ND had so many flowers??) The masking did well to hide the feet and legs...in the original photo, the pig was against a white wall, standing in a tangle of weeds.

Mary Lou, thanks for a great tut! I blended the bed of daylilies (taken at the local botanical garden) into the backyard image.

What a great video! I had never thought of replacing photo parts in this way. I moved these crazy hippies onto the beach and added a peace symbol from Week 9 Be Creative. What fun they seem to be having!

Great tut! Actually had to break out the mouse for this one. :) Masked the Kokopelli onto the roadside.

I thought the old shed needed an old car to keep it company.

This is a mix of a backyard picture and one of Phoo Bear that I used in a tennis match with BillZ.

Here's mine - Paul Bunyan feeding a dragon.. Not the best picture of Paul, but thought these two together was kind of fun.

I used the last part of the video - putting a layer mask in between the two photos and using a gradient clipping mask:

(And in case you think you're seeing double, I've also posted it in this week's Phototheme!)

Been doing a lot of garden work recently - filled in a pool we never used and landscaped over the area. Now just waiting for the grass to grow so this was a good excuse to grow some instant grass.

Done rather quickly and I need to fine-tune the colours/shadows but here are the before and afters:

Masks are -- well I understand how they work - got Grant's tools.
Just .... I'm missing a piece of the puzzle.
