If you could point me in the direction of a tutorial to do it that would be great!
I'm going to take a pic in a bathing suit, but have heavy bruising on my thighs from recent liposuction. I'd like to take them out because I'm going to show the pic at a party in a month or so(long story involving a 30 Day Fitness Challenge). I just don't know the best way to go about doing it. I'm using Elements 5.
Thanks!!!

Open picture file
Access clone stamp tool
In options bar for this tool, leave aligned unchecked
Create new, blank layer at top of stack
Press ALT + left click an area of skin that is not blemished
Left click on this layer the area that is to be replaced. Adjust size of brush as needed
Can position the cloned pixels with move tool if necessary
Can adjust opacity of layer if needed

While following Ken's good advice, you might want to do your cloning on a new layer, so you can toss it if you don't like the results.
In any case, make sure you work on a copy of your image, so you can always return to the original if needed.
Good luck with your project!

Yes, the 4th bullet refers to the layer where the cloned pixels should be deposited.

Depending on your results with the Clone Stamp Tool for removing those blemishes and bruising, you might want to look at the Spot Healing Brush Tool.
