I'm having problems with the audio cutting out in Premiere Elements. Sometimes a video clip will import perfectly except for the sound; other times, the clip is normal at first but parts of the audio are missing. Sometimes restarting Premiere helps, other times it doesn't.

I hear this is a common problem on networked computers and there's a patch for it, but I can't seem to find any information on it.

The computers are Dell running Windows XP, if that makes a difference.

Thanks!

What is the source, format, and duration of the clips being imported into Premiere Elements (what version?)?

Have you tried converting the video to DV AVI, and then bringing the DV AVI version into Premiere Elements via its Get Media/Files & Folders? Did your present system ever work correctly? Is it only these specific video files that are giving you the problem?

Once we get that out of the way, we can look deeper into computer and/or networking issues. What are your Dell Windows XP computer resources for installed and available RAM as well as total and free hard drive space?

Premiere Elements questions should be posted in the Premiere Elements Forum here so that they do not get lost in the Photoshop Elements questions.
