Hi everyone,
I have a jpeg image that has a white background that I need to make transparent. I attempted to do that by using the Magic Extractor, and the background indeed became checkerboard-looking, indicating transparency. I thought everything looked just fine. I then saved it as a jpeg.
However, when I placed it on top of a color page in Pagemaker 6.5 the image still was surrounded by a white background.
Can you help me accomplish transparency, please?
Thanks,
George Kelley

The JPEG format doesn't support transparency. Try saving it as a PNG, which does support transparency, although I don't know if Pagemaker reads the format.

You can also save as a GIF or TIFF file. Just make sure that transparency is checked when saving.

You need to save as a PNG file. When you do a save as choose PNG from thedrop down menu and you should be all set.

and whatever you do, don't flatten the image as the white background will come back.
