Me again, sorry so many questions. I have spliced music before in audacity for a slide show I made last year in photoshop. I think I read somewhere you can splice it together, fade one out while fading another song in, in premiere?

I still use Audacity for all my audio editing, well either that or Adobe Soundbooth.
Audacity is much easier to work with and produces good quality files for import into Premiere Elements. Then it is just a matter of using the Fades and or audio transitions in Premiere Elements, makes life a lot easier IMO :)

In spite of your being comfortable with Audacity, please do not be discouraged from looking at the audio editing possibilities in Premiere Elements. It is worth the look.

If you run into any problems, detail your goal and we will try to come up with a detailed how to or workaround.

I think between audacity and premiere I have it figured out. Thanks for all of the feedback.

When I download something, say like the DVD template, I can go to START->My Computer->etc and find where it downloaded just fine. But when I am in premiere and go to browse to put my new item in premiere, I can go to the same exact place and either it will not show up or it will show up as a file folder but will not open. This has been a continuing problem for me. If I restart my computer then sometimes I can find my file through premiere, but often it takes me moving it to several places, standing on my head just right to find my new item. What am I doing wrong? I am wasting tons of times just trying to find the new cool things I have downloaded.

The templates need to be installed to a specific location.
there is a free tutorial here
http://muvipix.com/products.php?subcat_id=42
called 'Installing DVD Templates'.

The tutorial was done for version 2 I believe, everything is the same except you will have to change the path to be
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Elements 7.0\DVD Templates
Instead of Premiere Elements 2.

That should help :)

cjcarsten,

Let us know how you do with that video tutorial.

If need be, I will give you a step by step DVD Template installation procedure specifically for Premiere Elements 7.

Do see my note in one of your other threads about making sure that the downloaded DVD Menu Template version (standard or widescreen) agrees with the Premiere Elements project preset that you select (standard or widescreen).

Thanks for the tutorial. I have for sure been saving things in the wrong place. I will try the next one to the above location. Thanks for the tip.
