Hi again guys, I'm getting frustrated really bad. Like I said before, I purchase elements techniques and can't see the videos. They start to play, but then they just stop. I can wait an hour and not see the little bar move an inch. I have windows xp, internet explorer is my browser, and I have not dsl but satelite which is supposed to be comparable to high speed internet. Can anyone help me out? I really want to get started learning....Darlene

Are you sure you are not pressing the space bar to pause it?

Can you at least see the controls that go with the video?

Have you tried downloading the videos and watching them offline instead?

Hi, I did like you said and saved it as a target, but I guess I still need to wait until it downloads first right? When I right clicked on the view tutorial and hit save as target, it let me do that, but now I am unsure of after I wait for it to download if it will be on the desktop or if I am only saving , oh I don't know what I'm doing darn it...But I'm not giving up. OK. To download the videos, you cannot download them from the video area (where you have "View Video" and a video icon, you need to go to the direct video downloads page. It is located here, it says "Direct Download" at the top:

http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/subscriber/video_download.php

You have a list (only a list) of all the videos. Decide on what video you want to download. Then do the following:

1) Right-click on the link for the video. Go to "Save Target As..."
2) The "Save As" box open up. At the top, there is a "Save In" box, click it, and choose Desktop (or where you want to save).
3) At the bottom of the box, where "File Name" is type in a new name or leave as it is.
4) Make sure "Save As Type" is QuickTime video
5) Click OK.

The video will take 2-5 minutes to download, it will depend on your internet speed and the size of the video.

Hope this helps

it will depend on your internet speed[/B] and the size of the video.

Hope this helps

Because of the recession going on, I currently have dial-up internet (yuck!) and the download times will vary from 30 minutes to possibly over 2 hours.

When I had high speed cable then yes they did take only 2-5 minutes.

I FINALLY, FINALLY figured it out...Whew, that was hard. I did however, figure out that on the view video page that I was on, that I could download them and then go back into that same site and it would let me view them..Thank goodness. And now, I am finally in the site you just directed me to and saw all the ones there and saw that I can save as target and do it that way. I tried one, but it says it would take about 30 minutes so I will go through and see what I want to look at and go from there. I was worried at first when I was previously in the view video place that there were only a handful of videos to watch and I was wondering what happened to the first impression I got that there were over 400 to see. Wow, what a trip. See, I don't give up, I get frustrated, but I never give up. Thank you so much for takiing the time to finally get through this thick skull. I can't wait to start now...Thankyou again...Darlene

Hi Darlene ..

I didn't realise that you hadn't found your way into the site ... here is the link:

http://www.photoshopelementsuser.com/

From there you just enter your details on the right and Login. Donlt forget to look in the Tutorials and Scrapbooking section too. Both those contain written tutorials and those don't have the same sort of load time :)
