How To delete multiple duplicate photos..no clue how I did it

I have been using photoshop elements for about 4 years. I don't consider myself a pro but I do feel like I can do most of what I want to. I was working on a photo and was clicking around and my fingers kinda slipped around and Bam! I somehow duplicated ALL of my photos. Some of tripled. I freaked didn't just hit undo so now I have so many extra photos my computer is crawling. Does anyone have any idea on how to quickly reslove this? I am about to lose my mind. I now have about 18,000 photos.

Which version of PSE?

I did the same thing!! I am brand new to PSE (version 7) and in the process of trying to back up my photos to the website, I duplicated all and tripled some. Did you ever get an answer or find a solution? Thanks!
