After those beers last week maybe we should sit a while. Bill and Julie both said this bench may need to be bigger.

Have fun, do what you will to the photo, post it back in this thread and send your photos to the shoe box at pht.challenge@gmail.com for our continuing photoshopping pleasure.

BJ -
The photo credit goes to Ellen as well ... I agree with you though, it's a wonderfully inviting shot.

I hope I have the idea of this challenge (if not, just ignore me :D ) I don't think I'd want to sit on a bench with a giant millipede!

Some people might think this was an old advertisement for the Three Crabs Restaurant in Sequim, Wa., but we know the real story!

This is a little more my style! Ahh, the woods of the Sierra Nevada!
Adjusted levels, and saturation on inserted lake scene, then adjusted all together. Burned in the sky and some on the trees and grass.

Ellen, thanks for another EZ! This is such a beautiful image -- very appropriate to be on the cover of your forthcoming book.:)

Thanks for the comment, Bill! I can't take all the credit for this image. I got help from Panos here.;):)

Ramie,
Thank you very much, and yes, you certainly got the idea right!

As far as I can reconstruct it, what I did was this:
Lightened with Levels and constructed the image, boats, crabs and all and merged all layers
Duplicated twice, added one of the Redfield Bas Relief Filters on 1 layer.
Added Noise to second layer, both below the real image.
Merged the 3 layers.
Cut out the shape with a clipping mask (like a cookie cutter, except that I used my own painted shape)
Put a layer of a light greenish color beneath that.

The frame is a layer style called Overspray, but I have no idea where I got it.

I think that was all that was left after experimenting with and deleting a number of other filters and styles.

Bill,
I got the impression that poor girl is going to drown herself. Please say it isn't so. I like it.

Sepiana,
That book looks great. I saw that on Panos, but didn't download it, because I couldn't imagine what to do with it. I will now.

MKS - Your image is very funny and well done!

Bill - I love the mood you created with yours. It's another one that looks like it has an interesting story behind it!

Steven - I don't want to know the story of that family! But I do recognize the haunting image of the young girl (and her dog!) in the background! She seems to pop up in the unlikeliest of places, doesn't she? ;) Funny!!!

Yipes! - not sure which is scarier, subs or sea monsters. Sometimes the big nuclear subs go by and they are scary indeed, black and huge.
