Hello,

I am not able to import my raw files shot with a nikon d70 using a card reader . My operating system is windows vista home premium 64 bit. The on screen display notes no files available for import....and I KNOW they are on the card. If I already have a raw (nef) file in the organizer it readily opens in the raw editing window. I just can't import.
Suggestions....thanks,

Peter

the nikon d70 is an adobe supported camera

Peter, are you trying to use the Adobe Downloader?

What happens when you hook the D70 directly tot he USB port on the PC, does the downloader recognize the D70?

What type of card are you using? When I first bought an SD HC card, my laptop's build card reader did not even read it or sensed it. I had to get me an external card reader that would read SD HC cards.

Just a thought.

jjvera, that's a very good thought, but not applicable here. The D70 uses CF cards. This issue you pointed out applies to the use of SD and SDHC cards. You need card readers designed specifically to handle the newer SDHC cards (anything over 2gb).

Ahh CF cards. I forgot about those. I was just going by my past experience with the SD HC cards.

It was a very good point, though. An often overlooked issue.

solved issue by first buying a new card reader as original had a bent pin which compromised the connection and most importantly downloading and installing the adobe camera raw plug-in in the elements 6 program file....all is smooth at this time.....thanks again
