thanks Wendy. I wanted to shoo them away and then realized they were not harming anything (and were not on me) so i left them alone. Their lucky day!

Thanks Mary Lou I had that feeling also when i first saw them. But they did give me a great opportunity. I am not good at them closeups yet.

I think the ants perform some necessary function for the peonies; not sure what.

Lovely Judy! as a kid I remember being told that the ants massage the buds open. A sweet idea but sadly not true.
