Organizer

I currently have all of my images in one folder in my Organizer (as originally set up) when I first installed Elements 6. Today I went to download some new images, I noticed that it took a few minutes to download about 95 images and when the Organizer came up it had allot of corrupted images (from the torn logo). So I removed that file and downloaded the images again. This time the photos downloaded as quickly as they have in the past. Now I can't access the Organizer, I received an "An error occurred while attempting to optimize the catalog" And it seems that now all of my images in that catalog (from all of my previous photos) have the torn logo. Does anyone have any ideas as to how to retrieve these images correctly.

The torn photo icon doesn't necessarily mean your images are corrupted -- it more often happens that PSE has stumbled trying to generate the thumbnails from your images.

1. Are these photos raw or JPEGs?

2. Try repairing the catalog as described here:

If that doesn't work, describe precisely what happens when you start the Organizer.
