How do i create a linen look background please? No particular colour as I just want my background to look textured. I have tried using the texture filter but it's not what I have in mind :(

Hi Sue ...
I photographed some Linen then made a seamless pattern out of it ... sometimes I use it as a texture nut other times I fill a layer with the pattern, simplify it, place it over a background paper then play with the blend modes :)

Also... In the PSE Textures folder, there is a Linen.JPG file here:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 7.0\Presets\Textures
Open Linen.JPG in Elements and resave it as a .PSD file
Then you can use it in the Texturizer Filter:
Fill your background with the color you want your linen texture.
Then click Filter > Texture > Texturizer
When the Texturizer dialog opens, just to the right of the "Texture" dropdown menu, click the button with the small right-pointing arrow, then click "Load Texture."
From the list of .PSD files, select Linen.PSD, then click Open to create your texture.
There are other .JPG files in the Textures folder that you can convert to .PSD file to make new textures.

Hi ...
Just do filter>Texture>Texturiser then click on the little triangle just to the right of the current texture ... you can select other textures from there :)

Hi Sue ..
It should be in Presets>Textures ...
If you can't see them then do into the folder (outside Elements not from within Elements) and check that the file is a psd file. You may have to convert if from a jpg ...
