This week's theme was suggested by Byron, and while it may prove to be a bit tough, I think it will be fun and a good exercise in the composition and setting up of our shots. The theme deals with the juxtaposition of various elements in an image and controlling the way the background and foreground work together. The classic example is the phone pole in the background that appears to be growing out of our dear subject's head.

The starter image is one I took today ... I was so busy trying to get all the members of this quartet in the frame that I completely missed the microphone 'growing' out of the flutist's nose.

You'll probably have to work with angles a bit, but let's see what you can come up with. The illusion of interplay is this week's theme.

Thanks to Byron for the suggestion, have fun with it.

Bill

I was able to make the SnowGoose into the SnowGoo by positioning myself in front of the concrete piling. Even the reflection in the water cooperated!

There's probably no real cause for alarm.

Not very imaginative but in keeping with the spring theme of my recent pics and because today was a beautiful day with not a cloud in the sky I thought an apple blossom pic would be appropriate - well I don't think that's a cloud .... if I see something better this week I might do another!

Well, the shot didn't turn out quite how I had hoped. Perhaps if that had been a botle of Guiness behind my son's head instead of Seagram's he would have been more cooperative.....though it does look as though that Busch lampshade is going to descend any second......

Thanks for the challenge - I'll keep trying.

While I'm working on finding my own image , soon as I seen what the challenge was I had to send this one. Its my co-workers girlfriend on a recent hiking trip to Yosemite. http://www.pixentral.com/hosted/1RMZqcq0Z27V2NETSPOJ6zfATi7uTE_thumb.jpg (http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=1RMZqcq0Z27V2NETSPOJ6zfATi7uTE)

Oh dear, coming after the last post mine seems so tame! Super image TonyK hahahaha!

I took mine at work today, and managed to turn it into a joke for the birthday girl. (No, it was not intentional to have a knife at her throat, she is a lovely girl really :))

What about the original illusion of interplay handed down since the origins of photography from one generation of teen-aged boys to another. Plus it looks like the man on the platform is ready to get poked in the patootie.

I've dithered over posting this blurry overexposed shot but maybe it can be a lesson to float builders not to put the Princesses on water features..
