I bought a bamboo tablet--Now what? How do I take advantage of it in PSE? Thus far, I'm just using it like a mouse.

I think that when I bought my Wacom tablet, it came with instructions on how to set it, but maybe I'm wrong. Anyway, just do a search and you will find You tube videos and other sites with information that will help you set it up.

Practice using it for making selections. That is where it really comes in handy.

The mouse is my main input device. I am not too fond of the touchpad on my laptop. The pen is good but takes getting used to. It is also easy to misplace. I have not explored all the possibilities with my pen & tablet yet.

I'm curious, which Bamboo did you get? I just heard of the Bamboo Craft (http://www.wacom.com/BambooCraft/) that comes with a tablet instructional dvd, a how to scrapbook with a tablet booklet, a cd of scrapbooking embellishments, a scrapbooking magazine subscription, and a shutterfly book credit. I am envious. My Fun didn't come with all that (it was cheaper though.)

Anybody get one of these yet? Are the dvd, cd, and booklet good? I did a search but didn't see the dvd available separately.

You might look at the web site "the-graphics-tablet". There are many examples of how to set up the tablet and tutorials on it's use. Over the past few months I have ended up using the tablet rather than the mouse for web surfing as well as photo editing. One way to get used to the tablet is to use it exclusively for all applications for a week. It is amazing how comfortable it becomes. It is also useful if you have had wrist problems.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
You can use the Pen tablet in PSE by making creating you own patterns and brushes, which you can utilize later on.

By making brushes of your choice and shape, you can always utilize them by creating the same shape whenever by just one click.

If you have Bamboo tablet, it might have some functions on the tablet too. It can zoom in and out by just just circular motion. And many others like this.

There is a nice video on pressure sensitivity in the elements killer tips under "Using Wacom Tablet". If you are a subscriber the video is available now. If you are not a subscriber the video will be eventually be available.
