Out of nowhere, when I try to upload to Smugmug the pictures seem to upload but then the screen simply flashes "Send to smugmug" while simultaneously also saying 'Preparing files". Nothing else happens. I have tried shutting down the computer a few times. I have uploaded thousands of photos in the past and this has never happened before. I am stumped as to what to do. Thanks in advance for your help.

Additional odd facts about this were that the photos were just scanned onto photoshop elements and edited and the editing does not appear to be holding even after the pictures are indicated to be locked and saved. Don't know if this is connected to the above problem.

files/catelogue/recover did not work for getting back the originally edited pictures.

Try reseting the online-services state:

Ignore the part about looking at the Log.txt file and go directly to the Adobe tech note.

the last line was not "initialing OLS" Last line says "Finished UI init. 0"

Right. Go ahead and follow the instructions in the Adobe tech note anyway.

In a surprising twist to this story, this morning, before leaving to work, I was able to upload a picture to Smug Mug and I edited a picture in Photoshop Elements and the changes took. I only hope that when I go home tonight the computer demons did not return. Thanks for your help; I hope I won't need to use it tonight.

I had a negative experience with SmugMug the other day which makes me wonder if the demons are at SmugMug and not local. I had 72 JPG files to upload for someone to review/choose prints. The SmugMug uploader interface kept locking up. Several hours later I tried again and was successful. Maybe a server problem?
