So I have 3 short movies about 5 min each made. I want to have them all on a single DVD with a menu selection for each movie. I can't seem to get it to work. I am using PE4. Note that I have successfully burn a DVD within the program before but with only one movie on it. Any help or web tutorials would be appreciated.

As you know, these DVD Menu Templates come with a Main Menu and a Scene Menu (Scene Selection Page).

Bottom line is that you can have more than one movie on your DVD for your Premiere Elements project, but Premiere Elements does not allow each movie to have its own scene selection page.

Is that what you are asking or are you asking how to get more than one movie on a DVD and how to access each from the DVD Menu?

There are various scenarios for doing all that in Premiere Elements, and I will detail the various possibilities, if you are not asking about separate scene selection pages for each movie. If you are asking the latter question, I suspect that a post will pop up before I get back suggesting the use of another DVD authoring program with more DVD menu options. But, assuming that you want to stay within Premiere Element, I will make suggestions that might work for you.

I put the following together, just in case....

Scenario 1.
You place each movie on the Scene Selection Page, using Scene Markers and Stop Markers for each movie in the Timeline. The scenario described in the link below will allow your viewer to have
a. DVD Main Menu, with functional Play All and Scene Selection buttons
b. And, access each movie (as a scene) in the Scene Selection Page. By selecting one of the scenes (movies) there, you get playback of it followed by return to the DVD Main Menu.

I have used the technique described many times without ever experiencing anything but success with it. There are those who would say that the “tiny gaps” mentioned in the procedure “can” generate errors. But, I and others have not supported that in our experience with this specific procedure. But, an issue could arise if disc space is an issue since you are duplicating the video in order to get the perk choices of viewing movies individually or Play All.

Scenario 2.
You place each movie on the DVD Main Menu, using Main Menu Markers and Stop Marker for each of your 3 movies on the Timeline. In addition, for each movie, you can place scene markers. The scenario described should allow your viewer to
a. select a movie from the Main Menu Button (Play All will not work for Play All, it will just play the first movie and then return to the DVD Main Menu.)
b. select the Scene Menu button on the Main Menu to get to the Scene Selection page…when you get to the scene selection page you will find the scenes for all the movies…you can get around that by arranging the scenes spacing/location and naming them appropriately (such as Movie 1, S1; Movie 1 S2; Movie 2, S1; Movie 2 S2, etc.

Key is to pick menus with the appropriate number of buttons to avoid spill over generating additional Main Menu and or Scene Menu pages. Also, you can always go into the Premiere Elements/DVD Template program files and modify certain features of the DVD Template, such as number of buttons, hiding the Play All button if you do not need it, etc.

There are numerous other possibilities, but this is just to give you some ideas.

To be continued, if necessary….

You can do it.

I will be standing by as your back seat driver.

Remember to check at the menu navigation in the Create Menus/Preview before you Burn to Disc.

Looking forward to report of success.

Here is a nice article by Steve Grisetti on using DVD Markers

That should provide you with a little extra help to add to the great support you are getting from ATR :)

Have all of the videos you created been placed into a single Premiere Elements project? That would also be a requirement for getting them all onto the same DVD ;)

From the instructions that I referenced and other, I took it for granted that you were beyond the stage of needing how tos for placing Timeline markers and knowing to bring your 3 movies to the same Timeline where you applied the appropriate markers before moving on to Create Menus.

So, if I took too much for granted, please let me know, and I will back up and get in step with you on that Timeline to DVD Menu process.

If you decide to get adventurous on your own and venture into the program files to edit the DVD Menu Templates, remember work from copies.
It is safer that way. I have navigated through/edited those DVD templates before, so I have first hand experience (stories to tell) on that.

But, as always, I will be watching for your progress.
