What is this in PSE6

I've just opened a digi-scrapping template and am wondering what the red and green on the layer palette means.

I've never seen anything like that before. Just out of interest, whose template is it? Does it only happen when opening up a template? And does it happen when you open up a template from anywhere else?

The templates were created in Photoshop CS where you can set the layer properties for the icon/eyeball color. Designers frequently use the colors to help organize/keep track of the certain types of layers in the template.

It's one from Peppermint Creative - this is the first time I've seen it

I just opened up a Peppermint Creative template (I only have one) and got the same result. I've also never noticed it on any other designers work before.
