Elements Slideshow Editing

Hi,
I am a new user from Florida and also new to Photoshop Elements 6. Question, I am creating a slideshow but am unable to edit the pictures from the slideshow. The edit menu is grayed out. I have saved the slideshow as a project, open it & run into this problem?

It is great to find a format where I can ask questions.

Hi there

I use PSE 7 and when I want to edit a slide I click on the slide and then there are options that pop up on the right, if I need to open full edit it will allow but the only way I've seen is you have to save your new file and then upload it back into the slide show.
If there is an easier way I'd love to know :)
