Our local paper had a special section yesterday on where to find cheap eats in town. It sounded like it might be a fun idea for the theme, so this week it's Cheap Eats.

This doesn't qualify for an entry but, the title of this weeks theme reminded me of a photo I took back in February while out looking for Eagles. Couldn't resist posting, the sign reads "Eat Here Get Worms"

The signs at local franchises provided my entries.

The first one was at our KFC. A "toonie" being our $2 coin, when I look at the ad closely (before Bill does :D ), I see that the cost is actually $2.79 + tax. So we're really talking about "Toonie + Loonie Tuesday" - which doesn't have quite the same appeal!

I had laughed at this rather lame joke on the sign at Boston Pizza when I saw it yesterday. Little did I know that I would need it today!

I did get a bunch of photos today, but, you can't get cheaper than free! Hubby is grilling some meat from a gift package of Omaha meats. The look says "Leave me alone - I'm hardly working". :D

For the rest of us who followed directions....

This is the menu of a local drive-thru called the Big Dipper. It's a little bitty place that is strictly drive-thru or order at the window (no dine-in service), and it's been a thriving establishment since I can remember. No matter what time you visit, there's a line of traffic all the way around the building. The food tastes great and the prices are cheap!

We grow our own vegetables (organically -- no synthetic fertilizers or pesticides), do a lot of canning, and have a lot of cheap eats.

Long story short, we vacationed in Oahu and stayed at a world class resort and just for fun ate all week at every cheap dive that the locals turned us on to all over the island. All of it was cheap and we never had any bad food. I had do a collage to tell my story.
