Happy Spring!!

My apologies to Tammy, Clara, and Tony for not participating in their last challenges. My husband is doing better but still needs some extra attention. He will probably be home for another 2 or 3 weeks. I have also been taking care of our 3-year-old grandaughter every day so things have been hectic to say the least!! I'm easing back into my "normal" schedule. Thank you to everyone for you thoughts and concern about my husband.

This week we are taking another trip back into time and visiting Be Creative #18. The first two links no longer work since the tut is over a year old but under "Notes" there are two versions written out and a link to a forum post with more info on how to do this.

While PSE does not have a Lens Blur you can use Gaussian Blur.

It is also stated to use a pic where you are looking down. I did not have one so my pic below is full size not miniature. I'm going to take a pic looking down and will post it later in the week.

Let's get started and have fun!!

I'm so glad to hear that your husband is doing better! You really have your hands full with a recuperating husband and a 3-year-old!! Thank you for taking time out to do this!
Here is mine. I remember this tutorial but this time I have my own photo and not one from Morguefile.

Thanks for the tutorial & links, Mary Lou
-- looking down into a small area at Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin. Blurring (& darkening) parts of the image sure helped. A reflective gradient was used to reveal the non blurred area.

My best to you and yours, Mary Lou. I had a heck of a time with this. I don't think I have very good depth perception :). This one seemed like I could actually "see" the miniature look. It's a great tutorial and the steps weren't as hard as I thought they would be. Thanks!

My view from the Sears Tower.
Could not get the reflected gradient to work, even after reset.
Used the radial gradient.

I'm not good at this one. I tried about ten images and then just 'cheated' like mad to get this result. (Basically I just blurred sections around the exercising girls)
