This one sounds really hard at first, but after a couple minutes of thought all sorts of things will come to mind. I think it's going to be a rather easy theme with a lot of different interpretations. The theme for the week is 'wind'.

Have fun.
Bill
The fine print:
Everyone is invited to participate.
Because the purpose of the weekly theme is to get us more familiar with our cameras and to sharpen our photographic skills, entries should be taken during the week of the theme.
Photoshopping is allowed.
To make this thread more manageable to view, please post only your entries in this thread. Post your comments in the accompanying 'comment' thread. (http://www.elementsvillage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=46502)

I haven't posted in ages; maybe a year???
But as soon as I saw the subject I KNEW the photo that I wanted to take.
However, I need help!!! (Well, if y'all knew me, that would be self-evident, but seriously.....)
I uploaded my photo to pixentral, but it's TOO big. How do I make it "normal"? Then can I use the same techniques to make me normal?
Here's my ginormous vision of "wind":

Open your photo is PSE. Choose Image > Resize > Image size. Make sure the box to "constrain propotions" is checked. Set the longest (or tallest) side to 750 px. Post that instead.
Fun photo for the theme (sorry for posting a comment here, Bill...)

Here's one I took this morning...they drift over our house all the time. I heard the "firing noise" and ran out with my camera but was a little late for a closer up. I'll call this "light wind".

It was really windy as we were walking in London today - but none of my photos seemed to catch the spirit of "wind". So here's this take on it instead.

Tugger loves the Wind in his face. Today was so windy his ears were blowing in the wind while we were standing still...

Around here, the wind has blown and blown and blown this spring. I got inspired to try and photograph a windmill, and it was a learning experience.

Went waaay out on a limb here, Bill, and really stretched my imagination for this shot! If I manage to get something better later on, I'll post it, but I really just wanted to make sure I got in this week!

It's been very windy around here, first I thought I would take a picture of the trash blowing down the street. except it was my trash.lol Instead, I found this really huge flag. Taken at 9:30 at night. The wind is still blowing hard.

I haven't had the chance to go out and find wind so I thought I would find something close by. This is my weather station in a dark corner of a bookcase. It has registered a 92 mph gust before, but today it was fluctuating between 8-9 mph, out of the southeast.
I didn't notice it until I was sharpening the image, but between two books is my Archie Double Digest comic! So that's where it went!

This is the effects of thousands of years of wind on the worlds oldest living trees. The Bristlecone Pine trees are over 4,500 years old and hold the title of the oldest living thing on earth. They are located in the Eastern Sierra, California high on a mountain top.

It's that time of the year when the trees are starting to leaf out and the willows down by the creek are particularly spring-like - so here's a pic of "Wind in the Willows". No sign of Ratty yet but I did hear Mr Toad the other day.

I thought I'd find the wind winding something but instead wound up with this winch.

At one point earlier this week the wind seemed to be blowing the flag from every direction at once ... even down.

I've been trying to get a pic of this guy for the longest! Finally got a few today. Have no idea why the crows chase him, but that's how I know he's around. Today I really really did wish for a telephoto lens.......:(
Oh yeah, the theme - hawks like to ride the wind.... ;)

I shot this yesterday, and thought it would represent wind. I tried putting it in my gallery, but the jpeg noise around the kite was really noticeable. For some reason it doesn't seem as bad on Pixentral. Anybody have an explanation for that? It wasn't noticeable on the RAW file, the .psd file or even the jpeg, except on the gallery upload.:confused::confused:
