I just got and tried to install my Photoshop 6 for Mac. I have downloaded and installed the trial version. When I went to install the version I just bought I get and error message that says Critical errors were found in setup
- Incompatible payloads already installed
Please see the Setup log file for details.

Any ideas on how get around this. I was so excited and then first thing I hit a snag.

I am hoping someone on line here will be able to help me.

Thanks,

Karen

Hi ...

This problem usually stems from a trial version of PSE6 being installed and then installed of the uninstaller being used the software folder is simply dragged into the trash.

Although this is the usual way to uninstall Mac programs it causes problems with PSE6 :(

Hi ...

Did you uninstall the demo version by dragging it into the trash .. and now you are having problems installing the full version ?

If so then this limk should help you:

I had the same problem when I downloaded the trial version but bought my software some where else. The problem turned out - I manually uninstalled Elements 6 and got the same message (I think) when I tried to installed the new Elements 6 version.

Fix - You have to download and install the trial version and then "use the uninstaller that came with the download."

Now you can install the new version. I hope this solves the problem.
