We had a long line of good entries this week.
Steven – What a great image to start us off with! The light in the distance does gives the photo a wonderful feeling of depth and the buildings in the foreground give a nice sense of scale to the scene. Very cool.
Lisa – The different size and shading of the windows make up a very interesting photo. Nice shot!
Helen – Nice colorful shot of the clothes lines. I like the diagonal of the brick in the foreground … and is that a teeter-totter? Two more lines adding interest to your shot. Your second shot fits the theme very nicely too … the fence lines are reflected nicely and the ripples in the water provide even more lines. Nice shot from the museum too, and really … can you ever have too many lines???
Norma – The other way to look at it … since the theme is lines and all … is that the Victorian house ruined the perfect shot of the lines. ;) Nice entry … and what a pretty house!
Katy – Yeah, I guess if you’re going to drink in a bar with birds overhead you probably want to order something with one of those little umbrellas. ;-) Fun shot.
Agg – There are certainly lots of lines there! The colors are really pretty too. Somehow the link to your first shot got messed up … here’s (http://www.pixentral.com/show.php?picture=1wnFyzUsaJtC8QmzQM7YVzLR0Flw6X) the path. As far as not knowing what the second shot it … well that’s easy … it’s lines!!
Toni – I too prefer the finishing on the first image, but they both do a wonderful job of showing the contrast of boats sweeping horizontal lines alongside the more strict verticals of the building. Very fun .. and a good eye to see it!
TonyK – The perspective here is great. All of the lines pull the viewer right into the center of the city, and smack into the lobby of the US Bank Tower. You did a very nice job blending yourself into the shadow of the pole as well. Congrats on a wonderful image.
Deborah – The domes have fabulous lines! It’s fun to see the horizontal lines begin to arc as the circumference of the building gets smaller. Very cool. Your treatment on the images is great and the rooflines and shadows of the building in the foreground are a nice bonus!
LindaS – Good find on the grass lines in your son’s artwork. The pastels are very spring-like!! The lines in your fields are also very spring-like and show lots of promise for a good harvest.
Clara – That’s a fun image! The lines of the wood grain lead perfectly into those of the paper, and your framing to make the perpendicular appear diagonal is great. The pencil adds not only a brilliant color splash, but also serves as a solid horizon for the image.
Bryon – Great shot of the board! I love the colors and your selective focus on the green vertical lines is great. It reminds me of a map of Manhattan (on its side) highlighting cross-town traffic. Very cool and one of my favorites this week.
Sepiana – The deck lines were a good idea, and the shadows did turn out to be a nice bonus. It looks like a nice place for a morning cup of coffee.
Tammy – You found lines alright! They’re everywhere in that shot and the interplay is a lot of fun. Good colors too!
Rob – That’s a beautiful piece and a great capture of it. The lighting you chose worked perfectly for it.
Sharon – There are no better lines are there? Nice interpretation and a nice capture.
Eleanor – The zoom on that first shot does an amazing job of compressing the poles and wires as they cross the street. I like the little bit of horizontal line toward the top of your second image … it breaks up the verticals nicely.
Julie – It’s nice seeing you back at the photo themes! Nice job of making an everyday shot look really special. Beautiful lighting, composition and finishing.
Carol – Wow! You found lines!! It’s nice when you stumble on something for a shot that you never even thought of before, isn’t it.
Doris – Sometimes you have to take matters into your own hands and just make your own dang lines! Nicely done … it’s very colorful and creative.
Ellen – Wait, I know this one! “To get to the other side!!” :D That’s a wonderful shot of Chloe and a nice interpretation of the theme. I really like the lighting too. My dad always used to send me out to play in the street, but we lived on a much busier road.
TonyW – Wonderful shot Tony. Great colors and it’s a good time of year to be able to see the lines through the tree branches.
Fun stuff as always folks and some very attractive images this week as well. There’s still plenty of time for more.

Impressive as always Bill, you're a legend.
I think someone should elect to do a commentry on Bill's image each week mmmmm? I tried for this week but couldn't come up with anything that wasn't totally pretentious. I just aint got the gift of the gab with that sort of thing. But I for one would love someone to take on that challenge.
Tony, I did not notice your shadow as mentioned by Bill. (Gosh he's good) So if that 's your shadow then what is the rest of the shadow from? I can't work it out. cheers

Thanks folks.
Ellen - I don't think there's any rush on that kind of stuff. I mean it's not like there's a deadline or anything. And if anyone gives you trouble just tell them you know Kim. ;)

Toni,
Sorry for the slow reply, busy weekend. The rest of that shadow is the pole that hold up the overhead power wires that power the train.
