I have just started using Premier Elements 4, having bought it in August last year but only getting my PC up to a spec that will handle it rececently. I have a Sony HDR FX7 CAMCORDER which I used with PE 2. No problems with it and buring dvds in standard definition. I am now moving towards bluray but do not have a bluray burner yet. When I capture in HDV and export to dvd the quality is poorer. There seems to be a sort of "swirling effect" acrosss footage with vertical lines eg window frames/heating radiators etc. Adobe after initially washing their hands saying that 4 is no longer supported have now admitted thay made an error and they do still support it!! I have hardly used it. They initially wanted me to upgrade but will it actually make a difference?
:

I want to be able to edit footage, burn bluray and then burn dvd without recapturing and re-editing footage. Can anyone help?

Another feature that concerns me is that in HDV capture I do not seem to be able to capture straight to the timeline and have the footage break up into scenes on their own. I can in standard capture. Is this just a feature of the programme?

Can anyone help??

Thanks.

ADDITIONAL:

I now have a bluray burner and player. The same "swirling" effect across DVD footage with vertical lines occurs.

The capture issue continues.

I have also posted elsewhere about stop markers not working in the Bluray version.

Finally Adobe have withdrawn support for PE4. I doubt I will buy an Adobe product again. Anything better??
