The search a file option in Vista do not work. It could not find the Camera RAW plugin file (8bi) for the installed Photoshop Elements ver 6.
Also the built in update function in Elements 6 do not work. Like Vista, it couldn't find the updated Camera RAW plugin.
So what to do. Solution:
The "Open Folder" app that I wrote, free download:

did solved my problems. I'm now able to open my Canon EOS 5d markII
files (CR2) 16 bit in Elements ver 6 :)

BTW. PE6: I have uploaded thumbnails for the free Actions: "Mask", "CentrePoint", and "Orthon 1" because Action Thumbs for Elements ver 6 (is PNG). http://fineraw.com/stuff/overview.html#links
