Hi - just got my upgrade (from 4 to 7) and I have one question (for now...)
How in tarnation do I get it to open to the design page?
I don't know what it's actually called - but I want to be able to click on the icon and when it opens I don't want to have to sign in to the web or select one of the scripted options from "create"
I just want the blank page with the tools on the left and the effects on the right to show up.
The page I'm referring to is posted below (attachment)
Oh - I did think of another question -- can you change the background? I don't like that dark grey... I can deal with it if I can't change it, but if it can be changed, I'd sure prefer it!
Thanks!

For the second part of your question, go to
Edit > Preferences > General
And then adjust the User interface brightness.

Hi,
You can find the directions to start up PSE7 directly from the Editor here (http://www.johnrellis.com/psedbtool/photoshopelements-6-7-faq.htm#_PSE_7_Welcome) under the category: "PSE 7 Welcome Screen startup options and turning off the advertising."
To adjust the interface color, go to Edit > Preferences > General > Appearance Options and then use the slider (User Interface Brightness). The adjustments for the Editor and the Organizer are independent -- you can select different levels of brightness for each.

Hi TravelinGal, yes it is possible to just go to the editor without dealing with photoshopcom and all the adds. You have to make a direct link to your desktop from the .exe file.
I don't have 7, still on 5, so I don't have the details but I bet someone will be along to tell you exactly what to do.
Welcome to the Village! Glad you found us!

I'm off to read the info provided and make the changes, but I'll be back! (here's hoping my head cold won't make it harder than it is... LOL)
Have a wonderful day!!!

Hi, to make your life easier -- the file you need to create a shortcut to the Editor is PhotoshopelementsEditor. exe and is located here:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop Elements 7.0
You need to scroll down a bit, almost towards the end of the list.

You're most welcome! You're good and fast (even with a cold). I'm a bit slow at typing today. No need for my post above.:D But I'll leave it there anyway; someone else may benefit from it.

Go to C:Program files/Adobe/Photoshop Elements 7.0 and page down to you find the Photoshop Elements editor Icon and send it to your Desktop.
Click on the Icon and it should start Elements in the editor mode.
