Hi,
I went to the Scrap Girls site to learn how to download/install brushes. My big problem is: where are the brush folders? I looked thru my hard drive, through the Elements folders, and nothing saying brushes.
This may be why I also can't find any frames?
Can you tell me what path they should follow. I have Elements 6 on a PC with XP.

Kimmer, I went to the Scrap Girls site with the intention of downloading a brush to see what happened and I would have to register and pay for them, so I did not.
I made a brush folder in my Pictures folder and I try to download all brush files in there. I still lose brush files in that little folder. Brushes will come as a zipped file and the name on the file sometimes does not match what you thought you downloaded in any way.
My advice to you is to go back and see if you can redownload the file. Pay special attention to the name of the file and where you are downloading it. It will probably be in a zipped file so it won't say brushes or .abr on the file.
Wish I could help more.

Thanks, Clara, but what I meant was: the instructions say to download 'to your Elements Brushes folder". That is what I can't find. I did not try to download the actual brushes, I was just running thru the instructions first.
In other words, where would I save the files on my computer if I can't find a brushes folder to begin with? I know I could make one, but where are the brushes that come with Elements?
Thanks for the help,
Kimmer

Kimmer, I have PE5. This is the way you load brushes in PE5.
In the tool bar click on the brush tool. Above the workspace you will see where to change brushes. Click on the brush controls and you sill see the default brushes.
To the right of the default brushes is a small arrow with a circle around it. Click on the arrow and you will see a menu. One of the options is load brushes. If you click on load brushes, then it will give you a box where you can find the .abr file on your computer. Load the brushes and you should see them in the brush menu.
Hope this is the info you want and that it helps.

Thanks everyone so much for the great participation this week. It seems like everyone had a good time playing with brushes. I admit that I am totally addicted to using brushes for borders lately.
BJ- Beautiful edge for a beautiful photo. It looks so springy. I love the butterfly brush.
Doris- I really like your image. The leaf brush and the pinecone brushes add so much. Those pinecone brushes are so detailed.
Toni- A great couple of images. The first image is just beautiful. The moonlight on her face is wonderful. The border brings it all together so well. The second image is so much fun. I love it when kids just start posing.
Suzanne- Both frames are perfect for the picture. This is why I like to use a brush for a border- you can have complete control over the colors. Your granddaughter is very cute.
Despec01- Both images are great. I love how you added texture to the frame on your first image. I like how your frame draws attention to the ball players on the second image.
Bill- Only you would come up with a brush that looks like tire tracks. That is a great picture, too. Looks like the driver is having a great time.
Deborah-That is a beautiful picture and the brush you made is a perfect compliment to it.
Shar- I love all of your images. On the first picture the brush looks so good with the drop shadow. I appreciate the sentiment on the second image, and it looks like a professional card. The processing and the border are fabulous on the third image. Again, it looks like a magazine picture. The colors are fabulous in the last picture. The color of the frame adds so much to the picture.
Eleanor- A beautiful frame for a beautiful girl. It really draws the attention to her.
Becky- Welcome to Be Creative. We have a good time every week. I love the black and white border with the black and white picture. Using snowflakes was a great idea.
Martha- That Emma is so cute. The frame makes the picture look cute and quirky. Your second image looks so springy. Love the swirls with the flowers.
Bob- The sepia tones and the border are perfect for this picture. Makes it look vintage.
Jerry- Also, welcome to Be Creative. I love your picture. Adding different colors to the border was a fabulous idea. It looks great.

Beautiful job Martha. Was that a separate brush or frame besides what you applied to the corners? Very striking. :D

Thanks, Clara, for the tutorial. Brushes are so much fun to make, collect, and use. Also, thanks for taking time to comment on each photo!
Victry1, the brush flourishes in the corner are separate from the edge effect. For the edge, I used Wendy's Custom Shape Deckels available under Downloads on the PhotoshopElementsUser.com site. I think what I did was delete the center, fill the edge with color, and apply a bevel. The brushes also have a bevel.

Clara,
Thank you for all your help and I have posted to the Creative #74 site. I guess I should not have commented there. Sorry,
I sure did have fun downloading all the brushes and testing them to see which I wanted to use.
