hi, new here, would like help

with actions. i have downloaded several actions and have had much fun using them. some of them, however, have several steps where various effects can be adjusted. then, at the end i am instructed to click "play" for the action to finish. i use elements 6 and a trial version of 7, and try as i might, i cannot find a "play" button. thanks for your help.

Are the actions specifically written for Elements ??

like Wendy mentioned, those are Photoshop actions that weren't created with PSE users in mind. There is no 'Play' button in Elements because there's no Actions palette in Elements - they are called from the Effects palette.

Look for actions specifically created for Elements (I know where you can find a bunch..) and you should have no troubles.

Beware, though - once you start with actions, they become just like popcorn - you'll keep adding them and adding them and adding them.... :p
