I recently downloaded many new font styles. Currently I have them stored in a folder. How is the best way to move them to PSE 7 where I can use them???

I might be wrong, but it seems to me that if you installed them in your "fonts" folder in whatever version of Windows you're using, they should be in the drop down menu in PSE 7 when you click on the text tool.

Jimmy Bob, you can use a font without installing it, if you wish. Double click on a font file which will open a window showing the font. Leave the window open, then start Elements. You should now find your new font in the font dropdown list and can use it in Elements.

Where ever you put them you must unzip them first

It took me about a hour to find Elements seven. Then I found the font folder in a file called PDFL. There were only 15 fonts in this folder. The fonts listed there were in a .OTF format. The fonts I want to install are in a >TTF format. When I open the type folder in PSE & I have dozens of font's to choose from. I am doing something wrong. I am not very savy about working my way thru my computer so I need step by step instructions.

Hi Jimmy Bob ...

You donlt actually install fonts into Elements 7 .. they just need to be installed in the fonts folder of your computer.

Then Elements will simple use them ..

Are you PC or Mac ?
The fonts on a pc you place in your fonts folder you find in the control panel depending on if you have vista or xp it might be a little different. For Example I have vista. I go to the control panel> Apperance and personalization>Fonts folder. Unzip the fonts you have downloaded and drop them in the fonts folder. They should be ready for any program you are running on your computer.

PSE pulls the font list out of your system's folder. Here is a "how-to" I found:

Installing OpenType or TrueType Fonts in Windows
We recommend installing only one format — OpenType, TrueType, or PostScript — of a font. Installing two or more formats of the same font may cause problems when you try to use, view, or print the font.

Choose Start > Settings > Control Panel

Note: In Windows XP, choose Start > Control Panel

Double-click the Fonts folder.

Choose File > Install New Font.

Locate the fonts you want to install.

In the Drives list, select the drive and the folder containing the fonts you want to install.

In the Folders list, select a folder that contains the fonts you want to install. (Make sure you have unzipped them first.) The fonts in the folder appear under List of Fonts.

Select the fonts to install. To select more than one font, hold down the CTRL key and click each font.

To copy the fonts to the Fonts folder, make sure the Copy fonts to the Fonts folder check box is selected.

Note: If installing fonts from a floppy disk or a CD-ROM, you should make sure this check box is selected. Otherwise, to use the fonts in your applications, you must always keep the disk in the disk drive.

Click OK to install the fonts.

I found them HERE (http://www.myfonts.com/support/help_install_win.html#opentruetype).

These are the VISTA instructions, just in case:

To install a font

1. Open Fonts by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Fonts.

2. Click File, and then click Install New Font.
If you don’t see the File menu, press ALT.

3.In the Add Fonts dialog box, under Drives, click the drive where the font that you want to install is located.

4.Under Folders, double-click the folder containing the fonts that you want to add.

5.Under List of fonts, click the font that you want to add, and then click Install.

I found those HERE (http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/help/f144ad40-bc63-43f1-a06e-4cc6b22bde301033.mspx)

I hope that helps!
