PSE6 missing files.

I have several photos that when I try to work on them get a message stating, "searching for missing file". It takes ages and never finds the file, yet the photoi is right there on the screen.

Also, I have just downloaded a batch of pics. and have edited same, but they do not come up when I go to organizer. I have tried going to "last 6 months" and they still do not show up. I tried to re-load them, but it says these files already exist.

Help!

When it is searching for missing files, that happens because you have used Windows to rename/move/delete these photos. You have to point PSE to the new file location or name using the File->Reconnect command. (Or alternatively, if you moved the photos in Windows, move them back to where they were). In the future, do not use Windows to rename/move/delete your photos; instead use PSE commands.

Did this anwere your question. I ahve the samem problem. It lists my photo's as "Missing" and not "connected" and tries to "find" them but cannot????

No. I tried, but it did not happen.

While I believe that you tried, it would help us to know exactly what you tried that didn't work.

As far as finding the photos that you currently can't find ... try View->Arrangement and then choose one of the last two choices, Import Batch or Folder Location View. In particular, the folder view should let you find the photos by the folder that the photos live in on your hard disk.

The word, "arrangemen"t does not show when I go to the view menu. I also looked in the find menu, but it's not there either.
