I just purchased and installed PE 4.0. When I try to access my free online training or anything else in the mailbox on the bottom of the screen I just get a blank Internet Explorer page. Do I need to change a setting?

Hi JTE
Welcome to the forums.
There seems to have been some things going on with these free whatevers. While this is not an Adobe run site there seems to be some type of offer in PE4 that brings users here.
I haven't purchased 4 yet so I don't know what the offer is. Hopefully, one of the new PE4 purchasers, who have had some luck with this offer, will be around soon to help out.
The people that run this site are top notch. I'm sure they will help sort things out.

Cool, thanks. Its not even about the frrebies though. I can't even get the link to "Online Support" to work. I have MSN as my default browser. Maybe it has something to do with that.

So you are just having trouble with the Elements side of the connection??
I use Firefox or IE, but I don't think the online help uses a browser (could be wrong on that haven't used it for a while). Could also be a firewall on your end, not allowing the program to use the internet.

Yes, when I go to Help->Online Support, it takes me to a blank IE screen.

Ok .. There is something about that ..sorry I have forgotten:o :o
Hopefully a PE4 user will be around soon. If not, I'm sure someone will pick this up tomorrow.

Ok, thanks. I figured its probably just a preference or firewall adjustment. Just wanted to work out all the kinks up front. I'm new to the Photoshop world.

Hi, I am in PSE4 and I just clicked the online support option from the editor and it came right up. (Netscape is my default browser, so that's what it came up in.) There is a separate problem with the classes, and I'm not sure how people have resolved it.

Ok, I just tried again and no luck. Also on the Welcome page, if I click on tutorials, I get the same result.

jte1130,
The online support command should link you to www.adobe.com/support.
As for the free classes, I'd sure like to hear from someone at Photoshop Elements Techniques. The registration email from Adobe states, "Two online training sessions. These videos explore techniques for making your photos look better than you ever thought they could. They're brought to you by Adobe Photoshop Elements Techniques, which includes Scott Kelby, best-selling author of the Photoshop Elements User Book for Digital Photographers."
These online videos cover topics such as photo resizing, color correction and working with camera RAW files.

Ok, I can get to the free classes through an email I received for completing the registration. However, I still cannot get the tutorials to work or any links to notifications in my PE mailbox.

Again..I'm not using 4 so just a guess.
did you install it to the default directory.
I wonder if the tutorials are supposed to be somewhere say ... C>Program files>Adobe>Photoshop elements>tutorials and they are not, so Elements can't find them.
Can you browse the CD for the tuts? and or the help file.
For emails, you have to have one of the default email clients for Elements to work properly.(email part)

If you could post the links that you are supposed to be able to go to for these free classes - maybe someone here can parse the URL and get you closer.:)

I found my way to the classes through an email from Adobe. Thanks for all the help.

Hi Norm-
I didn't hve any trouble with my two "freebie" tutorials, but it was at least six weeks ago when I watched them. I use I.E. 6.0. I was able to click on help and get info, but lately I get nothing.
Oops, well, just tried it and it worked--go figure!
Here is a link for registering and getting the free tutorials...maybe it will help someone. http://www.adobe.com/misc/registrationfaq_di.html
I have alot of "free" stuff advertised at the bottom of my organizer and it it usually from Kodak. I haven't really spent the time to click and go browsing yet. There is a little mailbox icon and when you click it, it shows other info.
Hope this helps.
PS> I just bought Premeier Elements (had to get the dual pack with PSE 4.0--even though I already bought it!!) so I have a brand new PSE 4.0 I guess I need to list on eBay...

Hi Kristy,
Thanks. I have registered the product and recieved an email from Adobe confirming that I'm entitled to the two classes. The email directs me to a link which, when opened says, "our records indicate you've already claimed your free classes" or something to that effect. I attempted to contact Adobe directly but have not received a reply. I finally went ahead and paid for one of the classes but I sure would like to hit them up for the second one.
Thanks.

When I click on the mailbox icon I get a list of some freebies. When I click on them, thats when I get the blank IE screen. It was happening with the free classes but I've found another way to get there.
