Well, at least they're balls - they should bounce back and forth across the net pretty easily...:D:D
Ellen - need some butter for that popcorn?

I can see that Linda is going to be a tricky opponent; starting me with an image like that one!
While I ponder my first shot (and, honestly, this is exactly how I really play tennis---slooowly), would someone please review the "rules," such as they are? We keep something from the original image at all times or from the most recently returned image?
Not that there's a lot of "somethings" to choose from in this one....
Back to you soon, Linda!

Lorri -
Rules?? There are rules??
The matches I've seen have mostly been three 'volleys', with the only restriction being to keep something from the previous shot. The original image doesn't need to appear in any shots after yours ... unless of course you'd choose to.
Ultimately the only rule is to have fun, which is easy.

And here we go! Linda, I've emailed you a link to the layered psd file on 4shared.
The little green balls are escaping the confines of their high rise offices. At least they bounce on impact. In this economy don't we all wish we could bounce back this way?

Oooh! Great return shot! (Except one of the balls got away....:D:D)
I love your perspective on the bouncing ball...now if Linda will just follow it...

That's a scorcher all right. I'm going to have to cogitate on this one a while.

It turns out the mystery of urban sprawl is solved: those glass beads are eggs:eek:. I adapted panosfx's snow globe. Had to skip some parts as the commands weren't available in elements. Made it work on a vertical image by making a white landscape new file and using that. Selected the white and pasted the building into the selection. Erased parts of globe I didn't want. Lorri, the psd file is on it's way to you.

I've expanded the view of Linda's snowy, celestial looking galaxy. The green balls make a return along with Linda's snow globe and snowy background.
Linda, you should have an email with a link to the layered file.

Well, faced with spending the afternoon doing housework or playing, guess which I chose:D Due to a direct meteor strike a nuclear winter has set in and Lorri's people are now ghostly residents of the shattered globe cities. I also kept her sky. travel is by ice boat. PS. Neither Lorri nor I have been eating the strange green mushrooms growing under the light of a weird moon.;);)

Outclassed nothing! You not only froze me out, you did it in record setting time! Kick back with a warm toddy and a snack because it may take me a more time to respond. I'm away from home for a few days.

My third and final shot. Seems a meteor was not responsible for the devastation of Snow Globe City....

Linda, the link to the layered file should be in your mailbox. I'm looking forward to seeing how you close the book on the saga of the green balls and snow globes. It's been great fun playing; thanks so much!

Lorri - that is too funny! You've just about closed the loop on the story. This is like reading a good book! (A picture book, of course!)

Ellen, be thankful it's Val and Kim in the back of the car you and Bill are driving in your (temporarily) suspended tennis match. You wouldn't want to find the hammer kid behind you on that long drive!

I'd like to set hammer boy on the service I'm getting - buying local turned out to be a mistake. if I'd bought my monitor from Costco we could all be in any Portland we want.

Here's my final return. A sleepy mother awakes after resting from decorating to discover it was all a dream and her little angel has not turned into a hammer wielding wrecking crew....or was it? What is that Unseelie Sidhe fairy doing to the ornaments in the box? Snowflake and fairy brush by Wendy. Lorrie, it's been great fun. You really made me stretch to keep up with you. Now it's someone else's turn to play.

That's FANTASTIC, Linda! You tied it all up perfectly! I love the way you included the various elements--snowglobe, ice boat, rock photo and the buildings outside the window.
To anyone who is hesitant about accepting a tennis challenge (or issuing one...) it's wonderful fun and really gets your creative cells moving! I know from my side it took Linda's creative push to get my own creativity flowing. So go for it!

Outstanding job, ladies! I can't wait to see what happens on the road trip to Portland...it's been awfully quiet here in the back seat, with Kim busy upholding the tax law and all...

Ellen's been blaming a broken monitor but I think they've veered off on various side trips....The Stoogeum in Pennsylvania, the world's largest catsup bottle in Illinois...

It was a lot of fun and Lorrie certainly made me dig deep to keep up with her. Never know what you are capable until pushed. I had to figure out ways of doing things i had never tried before to depict my idea of where to take the story next. Hope someone else comes forward. it's a fun way to hone your skills.
