I'm posting this week's challenge and Tammy has so kindly said she will post the comments next week. My husband is having surgery on Monday and will be in the hospital for about a week. While I will be lurking on the boards occasionally I won't be doing much commenting. So a HUGE thanks to Tammy for helping me out.
Now on to the challenge!! One of our 365 bloggers, Artlover, posted a very interesting tut to go along with a photograph. I was very intrigued and started playing with it. While it is not the easiet tut it is a lot of fun. It is for Photoshop CS3 so I rewrote it for PSE. I'm posting the orignal tut because it has photos of each step. Thanks Artlover for sharing your tut!!
The small print for the challenge is ……
Everyone is invited to participate.
Please join in, share your images, ideas, imagination and inspiration. There are no rules - feel free to experiment and, if you can remember tell us what you did so others can benefit from your experiments.
Please post your images (as many as you like) below in this thread.

1. Duplicate your image twice.
2. Select the rectangle marquee tool and make a vertical, horizontal or diagonal line anywhere in you picture. Play with this as different areas of the picture will produce different colored lines.
3. Select the move tool or CTL T and drag to each side of the picture.
4. Add a mask to the layer you just created with the lines. With the mask highlighted click CTL I to invert and bring up the original picture and that changes the mask to black.
5. On the original picture paint out the parts that you want to keep with a white brush. I used a hard brush. You should see the layer with the lines where you painted. Try to do this in one stroke while holding the mouse button down if you can. I painted over the edges a little and after step #6 I erased what I didn’t want.
6. When you finish painting highlight the mask again and click CTL I. That will take you back to the layer with the lines and your painted area will show the original picture. Touch up the areas that you want.
I put my lines on an angle and then reduced the opacity so part of the original picture shows through.
