I've trying to create a photobook in photoshop elements 7 and can't seem to figure out how to change the background colour. I want to just have a plain black background colour and the background layer seems locked.
Is this possible?
Thanks
Chris

Chris, create a new layer, select it and paint it black with the paint bucket.
OR, you can double click on the background layer to change it into a normal layer, then you can select it and paint it black.

Inside the Photobook creation workflow, you actually can't add a layer.
In Windows, go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements\7.0\Photo Creations\backgrounds
Add a new JPG file there that is simply black. Creating a matching XML file like the other JPG's have. The XML file simply tells Elements how to organize your new Black background into the lsit of backgrounds.
Restart PSE and your new Black background should be in the list.

I might add: the Photo Creations folder is in a different location IF you're using Vista.
