Hey EV Buddies,

I just tried to send 4 photos to my brother-in-law last night and after three hours, Yahoo was still loading it on.:( I sent two before that and they got there okay. I know it must be a size problem, but I thought if it was a Jpeg that it would be all right. If I "save for web" it is too small. Maybe go through pixcentral??
Thanks for your response.

Blessings,

Charlotte

What size are the images (in kilobytes or megabytes) once you prepare them for emailing?

... and do you want to send then so that he can view them onscreen or do you want then to be large enough to print out ??

Wendy :)
By the way using save for web you can make them any size you like not just very small size

Also, are you sure you are sending them as JPG and not PSDs. Remember PSD files are very large so that may be why it is taking too long.

And if you are sending large JPG files. It may be better to send one at a time rather than at one batch to make loading and sending easier.

Thanks for coming to my rescue once again! They are sent in jpeg format but i don't know how to tell the size. I want them to be able to view not necessarily print. Maybe like Wendy said, i will save to web and then adjust the size. I have not done that, except for my avatar.

I think you'd have reasonable success if you saved for web making the longest side around 800 pixels. Yahoo mail should be able to handle multiple images as jpeg attachment of that size.

I usually send files after using 'Save for Web' with a note attached, something along the lines of 'these images are low resolution, suitable for viewing on the computer but if you want high res pictures for printing then let me know'

My daughter now uploads all her photos to Snapfish and then any that I want I purchase and dl from there directly onto my computer and then print them at home.

Charlotte -

We are talking broadband here I assume?

Some ISP's have limitations on email attachments - mine on DSL is 25MB. I have never exceeded that so I can't say what it would do.

The advice you have received is right-on and I think you will make it work with the "Save to Web" thing. Frankly, when looking at the screen version I am hard presses to tell the difference between the before and after view you get in PSE.

Good luck,

Steve
