Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum and barely more than a beginner with Elements, but look forward to learning from everyone here. I have had a couple of introductory sessions in an earlier version of Elements, but just purchased version 7 and have a starter question.

In earlier versions, when you run your mouse cursor over the tool icons it pops up with the name of the tool. Elements 7 doesn't do that, or at least I don't know how to make it do that. Not being an experienced user, it would be really handy to have the name of the tool display as I run the cursor over it. Is there a way to have the program do this?

TIA for any help!

Jeff

Not sure what version you are using, but in PSE 7 on Windows, open the Editor in Full Edit Mode.

From the menu, choose Edit, Preferences General.

In the Options box, make sure the check the box that says "Show Tool Tips" is checked.

Does that work?

I will check that again, but I'm almost positive I was in that menu and saw that it was already checked.

Jeff,
If you right click on the tool it will show you all that are there.

If it's already checked, try deselecting it, closing Elements and opening it again. If that still doesn't work you can try resetting the preferences:

Restart Elements and as soon as you see it start loading, press the Shift+Ctrl+Alt keys and hold them all down while the program loads. If it asks if you want to delete the preferences file, or something to that effect, answer yes & it will rebuild the default preferences.

Upon opening the program last night they all worked! So I'm all set. Guess it was just one of those "computer things".

Thanks for all the help!
