Hi, I'm pretty new at this & starting (very) slowly to get to grips with PSE v7 (Vista 16 bit sp1) working through tuts etc. I was trying Dave Cross's "Moveable colour snapshot" (Sept 25th 2008) video in the subscriber area. I'm pretty sure I'm following & getting everything right, selecting correct layers etc, it all works ok & I do get the b/w "snapshot" with white border inside the original colour photo.
BUT when I do the final final "Ctrl i" to invert the b/w with the surrounding colour, the b/w "snapshot" reverts to colour (white border remains) & the surrounding area remains colour. So I end up with a colour snapshot inside a colour photo!
I know I must be doing something wrong. Any ideas?? Please & Thank you.

Norton,

I'd guess that you didn't remove the selection, so that the Invert affected only the inset photo area.

If you get rid of the marching ants, you should be OK.... I hope!

Hi Norton,

Before you go back to the Adjustment layer to apply Ctrl-I to invert, you need to do the following -- while still on the Snapshot layer, go to Select > Deselect (this will get rid of those marching ants around the snapshot).
