Sorry for the poor English and the mistakes...
I have a cropping problem (I'm using PE6 for Mac). When the cursor comes close to the border of the photo it 'jumps' to the border (like a magnet). Is there a way to prevent this?

This is a persisting problem and manifests itself with the marquee tool as well.
Press the space bar as the selection outline comes close to the edge of the workspace. This brings up the hand tool ,and , while engaged, allows repositioning away from an edge.

In all likelihood, the "Snap to" settings is probably set on to Guides, which will snap to the guide lines, including the edge of your image. Go to View>Snap to... and uncheck Guides.

Even with Snap to unchecked PSE6 still does this :(

Thanks for trying to help me everybody. But Wendy is right. In PSE6 it does'nt work. When i try it in the older version (PSE4) it works...

It also seems to be a "problem" that is associated with the first drag of the crop "boundary rectangle" (probably by design). Once you release the mouse, and grab a "handle" the snap to the edge of the image problem seems to be gone.

I haven't found a simple answer to this, but get round it as follows.
If the boundary snaps to the edge, I leave it there, but drag the opposite side inwards a little. Then I nudge the entire shape away from the edge using the left or right arrow keys, which nudge 1 pixel at a time.
Hardly elegant, but it works :)

I notice the problem is still in PSE 7!
It wasn't in PSE 5

I found that if you hold down the CTRL key while dragging the crop line it allows fine tuning of the crop without snapping to the edge. Be sure to release the mouse button before releasing the CTRL key.
