We have recently moved from California to Nevada and I am from Canada so we have a lot of people we want to keep in touch with. We usually do a Christmas letter but this year I wanted to bump it up a notch so with a combination of cardstock and Elements I came up with a holder for the letter and an envelope. The picture postage was used on the envelope - a really fun thing to do. I put them in my gallery if you would like to see :)

You do great work. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. I am very new to photoshop elements and love looking at how others use it.

Mary what a terrific idea. Hopefully next year I will be more creative. I only made cards for my Golden retriever card exchange this year and that was just because I signed up early. I just couldn't get into the card thing this year.

Thanks Pauline - next year is going to be better - I promise!:) I appreciate you and others here - we have moved so far away from our friends and other family that without you (especially you right now) I would feel less like Christmas. You may not have meant to but you have made me feel more like Christmas just by being here and sharing your wonderful dog and your creativity!:)

Well thank you Mary!! I think all this creativity really helps get the mind off things. You just kind of loose yourself.

That looks great.
Excuse my ignorance, but I don't get the card holder thing. What is it?

Hi Gary
Rather than doing a regular card and then folding up our Christmas letter to put inside the card - we did our letter and put it in that holder. It dressed it up and made it different. The envelope was regular business letter size so I made everything fit that dimension.:)

Hi Mary
Thanks. So it's sort of like a band around the letter? Cool idea..really finishes it off.

Mary ...
I do know how you feel. When we moved here I didn't know anyone in the area and in the run up to our first Christmas I was quite sad as I felt so lost without our friends and family ... but it did get better. We decided to make it a special Christmas for the two of us and tried out some new things.
Come the second Christmas I had made a lot of new friends and I felt so much happier about Christmas ... :)
