View Full Version : Problem initials layers?

I'm in a hurry so I hope I explain this properly. I did my initials and the year to put in the corner of my card. I did this in black. It worked the first time but when I went to do it on another image the initials came out in green - not black. I had not changed anything to my knowledge. I have done the initial and saved it and it shows at the bottom of my brushes. THEN the other thing that happens when I click to do this brush a transparent and black line sketch like film comes up over the whole editor screen - and I cannot get rid of it. I don't even know what it is. I thought I could do the initials bit properly but would someone mind giving me the steps again - I would really appreciate it. Can you change the color once they are saved in the brush column. I like to have one in light colors and one in dark shades.
Thanks.

Hi Shari - all brushes are controlled by your foreground color. The two little squares at the bottom of your tool bar. Click on the foreground square - the color picker should pop up and then you can choose the color you want from there - then paint with your brush.
Let us know if that is what you need:)

Thanks Mary, I did know that. I think what my problem was that I didn't put the initials on a new layer. I just tried that and it came up in black. I don't know where the dark green came from - but all sorts of magic things happen when you are learning this programme. Right!

Hi-
I made two "intial brushes" per Wendy's tut. and now they are gone! I used them several times...anyone know what may have happened to them?
ps> I looked in every brush drop down menu...I think their numbers were 270 and 271, but they are nowhere to be found
Thanks!

That is what happened to me Kirsty. That is why I started again. I had the one I liked and haven't used my programme for a few months and it is gone?
More of the mysteries of this Elements - but it is slowly coming.

Hi there ...
Did you save your brushes once you had made them?? If so then you just need to load the brush set you created.
If you didn't then as soon as you change your brush they will have vanished :(
Take a look here ... just scroll down until you find "Saving Brushes using the Preset Manager" .... and it shows you how to create your own brush set.
