I have had time now to do a better photo. Ivana Hercha is a jammer, as the star on her helmet indicates. She scores the points in roller derby, and as such gets the speediest skates in. The referees are also always skating, so they get their exercise for the night.

Even shooting in RAW produced some photo challenges. Due to the speed of the action and the lighting the ISO had to be set high which produced a lot of grain. If you can't beat it it was easier to add more and try to disguise it by being artsy!

Exercise has a few other meanings and today was a beautiful spring day up here so we headed down to Aylmer to catch the tundra swans on their annual migration exercise to get from Chesapeake Bay to the Alaskan Arctic. This is one of their stop-overs for food and R&R.

We had a lovely day with the grandkids yesterday, and certainly there was a lot of exercise going on. The man on the bottom left sort of tugged at my heart strings a bit.

Caught this cute little lady walking her dog. I am trying to get bolder at asking people if I can take their picture. I got so excited that the lady let me photograph her that I forgot to whistle to get the dog's attention. It rained most of the day on Monday, but I don't think that this dog got wet.

Well, today was a perfect day for my Seeing Eye pup to join another Seeing Eye pup & get their exercise. I just watched and practiced with the manual settings on my camera (my current learning experience). They had a great time and I'm sure will nap all afternoon! (Another bonus)

I even got to use one of the textures from last week in the background. :D

I want to start doing the challenges so I began thinking about different exercise shots I could put together, then it dawned on me, I take so many exercise shots. My kids are in little league. That's exercise!! I took this shot last week. Does that count? Do I have to take it the week of that challenge? If it doesn't count, there is a game on Friday and another on Saturday. I know I can get a shot before the end of the week. Can someone let me know if I should submit something else.

Finally got someone's feet into the little bicycle exerciser this week. DH hasn't been feeling very well so his exercise has been going with me in the morning on my walk. Of course he rides his scooter and tells the crossing guard how tired all this walking is making him...:rolleyes:

This week was an exercise in futility finding what I wanted, (I sold the clothes hanger/exercise machine) This was in a dark pet store and flash would have been rude so here's a bird with it's workout toys filtered a lot.

OK, it's late at night and the kids are in bed, right? We have a couple women exclusive gyms in town, such as Curves and Butterfly something (Life?) But this one is very different. It is taught by a world champion female body builder, and I have heard it really is quite the workout. Like Gary I couldn't take my camera in there for some reason! And I was waving a fistful of dollars in my hand, willing to pay for the photo privilege, which I thought was a nice gesture on my part.:confused:
