Steven - your shot reminds me of a Jim Croce song, "Roller Derby Queen!" Now we know your secret! Fun shot!

I'm still laughing.
Having seen roller derby since ...well never mind. Good action shots.

Tony, great photo. Love the flight one also.

That's a really funny and clever entry Mary Lou, so many of us can probably relate. Now if we could mount The Village on the handle bars somehow.....................

LindaS -

I'm glad you joined in the photo theme! That's a great photo and certainly qualifies for the theme interpretation. I hope we'll see you participate on a regular basis.

The themes are posted late Saturday / early Sunday, and technically the shot should be taken sometime after the theme is announced, and before the subsequent theme is announced the following weekend. The only reason for that guideline is to encourage us to go out and take a shot, rather than just go through our files and find one we've taken.

All that said, the International Panel of Judges are a pretty easy going bunch and are focused much more on everyone having fun than on rapping knuckles over some little compliance technicality.

So have fun, get to know your camera, and join us!! Again ... welcome!

That was a good workout … or at least some nice photos of a potential good workout.

Steven – Thanks for getting us started with your shots from the Bombers’ game. I feel your pain about shooting action indoors … an ice skating event earlier this year provided similar challenges. Nice approach to add noise to the image to make it look intentional … wish I’d thought of it. ;)

Tony – Both shots are great but I really like the swans in flight Image. You really froze the action, and the way you cropped / composed the image does a great job of portraying the drafting that occurs in flight. Nicely done.

Mary Lou – a couple added benefits of this week’s theme are that you’ve found your piggy bank, and should we ever have ‘clothes hangars’ as a theme you’ve got a great idea for your shot. Funny image Mary Lou, and a good creative interpretation.

Toni – Yipes … that a scorcher! It looks like everyone found a nice way to cool off though. The frame and your presentation is really nice …. I especially like the way the kayaker is doing a border break-in to the images above and in front of him. Cool font too … is that Papyrus??

Sepiana – Love it! I absolutely love it! The colors are wonderful but the lines really work for me. Just as the eye gets comfortable following the left to right diagonal there’s a sharp turn to the left. That’s very fun! And did I mention the colors? Really nice entry Sepiana.

Katy – You got a nice shot of it though! If it’s not being used you might compare notes with Mary Lou. Those things seem to work pretty well for storage too!

Clara – Your boldness is paying off! That’s a very nice portrait and in addition to the lady’s beautiful smile I rather like that the well dressed pooch’s interest is completely somewhere else. I’m also drawn to the lines of the sidewalk and the road running off behind them.

Doris – Welcome to the photo themes challenge! That’s a great shot of Dawson, and he does in fact look as though he’s gotten his workout. I’ll bet the sight of a thrown tennis ball will get him up and running though. ;-) Nice interpretation of the a theme and a good entry. Again, welcome!

Eleanor – Let’s see, you learned more about shooting manual, you were able to use a texture from last week’s creative challenge, and you got a quiet afternoon out of the deal? Sounds like t Trifecta! Great photos Eleanor … those pups are so full of play and energy I’m getting my exercise just looking at the pictures.

Deborah – That’s a great posting for St Pat’s day with all that red hair dyed green, and your green layer strokes. The theme interpretation is really good too and you made a nice layout. Your second shot is wonderful fun! What a great entrance to what I hope is a bowling alley.

Helen – That’s hilarious. I hope you, Katy and Mary Lou all get a chance to talk. Nice shot Helen .. I can just about smell the cedar!

LindaS – Again, welcome Linda. We’re glad you’ve joined in the photo theme challenge and hope to see you play on a regular basis.

Debra – Congratulations on finding one of those machines actually being used for exercise! It seems we’ve seen a few of them put to use in other ways this week.

Nice shots this week folks … and there’s still lots of time for more entries, so tell a friend. Welcome again to our new players this week!

Bill, Thank you again for giving us very interesting challenges each week, and for the comments that are so constructive.
Yes, the second picture is the entrance to a bowling alley. As we drove by their sign just caught our eyes. We had to stop and check it out, plus we bowled a few frames.
Many Thanks to you Bill!

Toni, thats my fav. font also.

Bill, thanks so much for another PT and for the comments! I was lucky enough to take that shot before the battery died. (I'd left the spare one at home.):):o

Toni, thanks to you too! You're so kind.
