Alex ... Great foot tapping animation!! ... Well done. Great work on the multiple one and clever use of colour on No 3. That one also has a great background effect ... very nice!!

Barbara ... Wow those are simply stunning. My favourite has to be the wonderful folder effect in No 2.

Ben ... Nice work. I especially like the light effect !! Its an interesting textured effect you have achieved ... how did you do it?

Bob ... That is really great ... how did you do it???

Butch ... Good use of the flood technique.

Chris ... Nice work on the blending in No 1 and its a good theme too. No 2 has wonderful colours in there and how did you get that effect ... it is really good!!

Dave ... Very clever use of the figure ... took me a while to spot all the bits :)

Malcolm ... Oh that makes such a good high key image ... well done!

Marilyn ... I love the way you have done No 1, it is just lovely ... but No 2 is amazing. Great use of the image ... its stunning :)

Marylou ... What a nice idea and you have made a great job of doing it!!

Rita ... Excellent colour changes in there ... you have made such a good job or changing the image around and the reflection is a great touch. Well done!

Robin ...Oh I do like that idea ... its very clever and good creative use of the image

Tab ... Wow that is a riot of colour. I really like the way the lines on the frame reflect the lines of the Christmas Tree ... it gives the whole image a nice balance.

Terry ... Nice your on the image ... Good background flip and blend, its seamless !! ... and the figure is so well done. Nice touch with the colour change, hands and the leg !! You have given No 2 such a gentle quality ... it is so nicely done!

Tom ... Oh now that is brilliant ... I can work out the background but how did you gild the figure. By the way I like the change you have done to the hand!

Tony ... Great work on inserting the figure in No 1 ... its so well done. Must have taken you ages to get it just right. Wow those curtains in No 2 are amazing ... how did you do that?? ... and what a good use for that Christmas Parcel. Very nicely done indeed

Ward ... I love the "audience" in No 1 ... really made me smile :) ... and excellent pattern in No 2. Well done !!

Thanks Wendy.
From How To Cheat In Photoshop, I desaturated then used this curves setting and applied a yellow photo filter:

Great comments as usual Wendy. I do find the challenges a great way to learn and an opportunity to try new things.

Actually I find combining images quite quick and easy now. I just make rough selections and then use a layer mask to fine tune the edges - much easier than trying to make a perfect selection - the Wacom tablet helps a lot when painting on the layer mask.

Those curtains were done from the shirt pattern, adding a fibre filter and using a googled curtain ad as a displacement map. Got lazy and didn't do the top drapes right - should have rotated and applied the displacement map separately so they draped better but it was bed-time ;)

Wendy,

Thanks for your comments. My pattern idea was to try something outside my usual entries. I used the marque tool to select a slender rectangle from shoulder to ankle to get all the colors of the costume and then made a pattern from that.

Aside from my comment on your desk ornament in "that other forum", I really liked your menu idea. It must have taken quite a bit of work, given Elements' less than robust text blocking tools.

Hi Ward ...

Thanks for the info on how you did it ... sometimes I think its good to try something totally different.

The Menus ... Oh I cheated with that one :o

My stepdaughhter is coming over next Sunday with two friends and we are cooking Christmas Dinner for them. (We do this every year and call it our practice run :) ). Each year they wait to see what little surprise I will do and this year I managed to pick up some small menu holders (9" x 5"). So I have done Menus and Wine Lists for the meal ... one for each guest.

I already had them prepared so I just cut out the figure, matched the colour, placed him below the snowflakes and lowered the opacity. Then all I needed to do was make a simple menu holder and my entry was done.

Funny thing is I use Photoshop quite a lot for text ... I even use it to write myself notes. That way I store them with the images ... my husband thinks that I am totally crazy :)
