Welcome to Be Creative #70

I have studied the past Be Creative tutorials and as far as I can determine we have not been on a field trip to find the textures of other people to use with our images. On MCP Actions, I found a great link to some fabulous images on fickr commons. She even gives you information on how to download the textures from flickr. Here is the link.
http://mcpactions.com/blog/2008/12/13/some-amazing-free-high-resolution-textures-and-how-to-use-them/
At the bottom of the page, she has a video to show you how to apply textures to your pictures. I was having a little problem this morning getting the video to run all of the way through, so here is a link to another tutorial on putting textures on your images.

So- Let's have fun applying some great textures to our images.

The small print for the challenge is ……

Everyone is invited to participate.
Please join in, share your images, ideas, imagination and inspiration. There are no rules - feel free to experiment and, if you can remember tell us what you did so others can benefit from your experiments.

Please post your images (as many as you like) below in this thread.

If you would like to comment or have a question, please post here. (http://www.elementsvillage.com/forums/showthread.php?p=446413#post446413)

And, above all, have fun!

Here is my image to start us off. I posted this on my blog, and for this challenge, I decided to change it to black and white and add a texture. This is so much fun, that I will probably post more during the week.

The texture is from an image of a sheet of frozen sleet on my sidewalk.

Hi Clara,

Just stopped in to see what was going on & saw your challenge. What a plethora of textures! Couldn't resist giving it a try. Of course, making decisions with a lot of choice available isn't my strong suit. :D Another pic from my Chicago collection.

Thanks, Clara. And what great textures on Flickr! It was hard to choose only a few.
The images allready posted are great. I always enjoy seeing everyone's creations!
Here is mine. I used Heavy Painted with Border (Flickr) on the photo. The frame is a Pattern Fill Adjustment Layer with Artists surfaces>Stone under a colored frame layer set to "Color" blend mode. What a fun tutorial!

Fabulous challenge this week. I really like all the images.
On this one, I had a plaster texture then brushed back in color to the flowers.
May have to grab more textures. Thanks Clara for the challenge this week.

I tried so many different images and textures, it was 'playtime' with a capital P. Thanks Clara.

Not sure which one I prefer. First one was a ghostbones texture. The second one was from your link Clara (one of the stone textures). I erased the texture from Emily's body though.
