A mastodon is part of your town's history, Kim? My friend, Barney Rubble, is looking to relocate, so I will be sure and pass this on to him!

Be sure to have your friend look me up when he gets to town, Steven. I'll be glad to set up an interview for him with my boss, Mr. Slate, down at the stone quarry. :p

Steven - there is a strong resemblance between painted cat and real cat!
Clara - love the lyrical accompaniment to your photo. :)

The light on this photo is terrible, but I am so excited because I actually found a Help Wanted sign. There's also a For Sale sign, so if you are in need of a business opportunity, the Tasty Freeze in Heflin, Alabama, is waiting for you.

Nice paint jobs everyone!!
Steven – Your friend is very talented … that’s a great painting and really shows the exuberance not only of that dog, but dogs in general. Nice photo as well, the lamp shade does a very nice job of putting the light right where you want it. The formal portrait of the cat is a nice contrast. The shots very nicely represent the two species too.
Helen – Wonderful images! I love the Queen Elizabeth coming into the harbor with the youngster painting her as she comes in. The dried water colors have great texture and tone in your second shot!
Katy – But before you can paint you’d have to remove the wallpaper. A far easier approach would be to rekindle your fondness for the paper. ;)
Sepiana – Between your husband and Steven’s friend we’re seeing some wonderful painting talent as well as photographic skills.
Kim – That’s great! The mastodon seems to be staring at the drain spout like s/he doesn’t exactly care for it being there. I like the blossoms (dogwood??) on the right and the great colors throughout the mural.
Val – I’m sure the shot of your paint cans would have been cool, but I really like the brushes shot you decided to go with. The shot has great lines and texture. I love the snow in your second shot … what I like most about it is that it’s somewhere else. As far as your brain teaser, if there are ten peaks, and the first one is called Peak One, all I can guess is that the other peaks are called B, C, D, E, F, 7, H, 9, and J. Is that right?? :p
Clara – The chipped paint is great and I really like the little glimpses of all the colors the horse has been before . Nifty twofer for your blog as well.
Toni – What a fun shot! It looks like a very interesting part of your city … the stylish pedestrians passing by the fashion wholesalers is a nice touch, and the man on the wall is a hoot. I’m sure he appreciates your daily greeting and would return it if he could. The frame from the creative challenge looks really great on your image as well.
Vasni – I like your abstraction, and I really like your interpretation of ‘paint’ for the theme. Very clever!
Larry – If you ever needed proof that you can’t take it with you … there you have it. Nice entry!
Ellen – That’s a cool shot of the painted paint brush painting the paint store. It’s also a nice demonstration of how we can all use light (shadows / highlights, dodging/burning, etc.) in our own creations to impart depth .
Sharon – What beautiful detail! The fine lines really compliment the fragility of the eggshell. Nicely done!
Gary – Welcome back! I hope everything worked out with your plan to add extra hours to the day! You really captured the texture of that shot beautifully, and the color peeking through the chipping paint is great.
Fun stuff as always folks … there’s still time for more entries, so tell a friend. Thanks too for the comments on the starter image and my entry.

Thanks as always Bill, I like your shots and especially like the contrast between your composed paint plops and the hurried look of the plywood.

Bill - thanks for comments. How did you know the names of the other nine peaks? You must have Googled it... ;)
If you like going someplace else, I'll be in Colorado (in my blog) for the next week or so...I felt the need to burst out of my light box.

Bill, thank you so much for the comments. Your paint blob picture is wonderfly set up. It is a very good image. The peace sign on the plywood is way cool, too. Thank you so much for just being you!

Deborah - I'm glad the international panel of judges granted you an extension ... that's really cool. It's a nice technique as well!:D
